Achintya Kumar Sengupta was an Indian writer who was born on 19 September 1903 in the Noakhali district (Bangladesh). At the age of 13, after his father's death, he moved to Calcutta. Achintya Kumar Sengupta completed his schooling there and got a B.A. honors in English from the South Suburban College. And, he got an M.A. degree from the University Of Calcutta. Later Achintya Kumar Sengupta studied law and served as a Judge in the Magistrate Courts Of Kolkata, and the district courts of Midnapore, Dinajpur, and Kushtia. Later Achintya Kumar Sengupta retired as a Principal District Judge of Alipore court in 1961. Achintya Kumar Sengupta started his writing under the pen name, "Niharika Debi". Achintya Kumar Sengupta wrote in almost all genres and contributed a lot to Bengali literature. Achintya Kumar Sengupta is best remembered for his novels and stories and he wrote more than 100 books.
