About this author
Anne Frank was a Jewish girl born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1929. In 1942, her family went into hiding from the Nazis in a secret annex in Amsterdam. During her time in hiding, Anne kept a diary in which she recorded her thoughts, feelings, and experiences of living in hiding.
Unfortunately, after two years in hiding, the annex was discovered by the Nazis and Anne and her family were sent to concentration camps. Anne died in 1945, just a few months before the end of the war.
Her diary, known as “The Diary of Anne Frank,” was found and published by her father after the war. It has since become one of the most widely read books in the world, translated into over 70 languages. The diary provides a unique and moving perspective on the experiences of Jews during the Holocaust and has become an important historical document and a symbol of hope and resilience.
