Rajanikanta Sen was born on 29 July 1865. He was a Bengali Poet and composer, known for his devotional compositions, as well as patriotic songs.
Rajanikanta was born in Vaida Family in the village of Bhangabari, Seirajganj of Pabna Disrict.
His father’s name was Guruprasad Sen and his mother’s name was Manomohini Debi.
Rajanikanta’s songs may be classified into four categories: Devotional, Patriotic, Humanitarian, and Satire
Sen’s major contribution to Bengali literature and music was the immortal devotional songs that were written and composed by him. His songs were set to Hindustani classical style, mixing Kirtan, Baul, and Tappa. He became well-known as Kantakabi and his songs are often called Kantageeti.
