About this author
Sajanikanta Das was born on 25 August 1900, in Betalban village, Bardhaman district. He was a Bengali poet, literary critic, and editor of Shanibarer Chithi.
He passed the entrance examination from Dinajpur Jila School of Dinajpur and entered the Presidency College Calcutta in 1918. He did not complete his study there due to political causes and joined Bankura Wesleyan Missionary College. Thereafter he passed B.Sc from Scottish Church College.
He joined the esteemed Bengali magazine Shanibarer Chithi while he was studying M.Sc, he became the chief editor there from the 11th issue onwards. His prose, and satirical attack hit eminent personalities of Bengal. He was a well-known intellectual for his time as a constructive critic, lyricist, scriptwriter, and play writer.
He established Shaniranjan Press and Ranjan Publishing House in Kolkata.
