About this author
Satyendranath Tagore was born on 1 June 1842 in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India (now in West Bengal, India). He was an Indian civil servant, poet, composer, writer, social reformer, and linguist from Kolkata, West Bengal.
He learned about Culture and English while staying at home. Later he studied at a Hindu school. He was in the first entrance examination organized by Calcutta University in 1857 and was admitted to the Presidency College by getting first division.
He worked for the government, in those times though it was hard for one to get a higher post in government if one was not English, He was still able to get one. For his work, he was able to move around and travel a lot.
Which made an apparent effect on how he wrote and his writing subjects.
