Deyal Book Review
Deyal is the most anticipated book of this year. The story has begun with a typical ‘Humayun Ahmed’ plot – beautiful girl from a well-off broken family falls in love with the home tutor. The starting was quite boring & I couldn’t relate this plot to the parallel historical plot at first. Then came the events of Mujib assassination & then 1975 coup at the jail & last Zia’s rise to power & the aftermath ending with Taher’s verdict. The book felt like a huge skeleton for another big book that Humayun Ahmed couldn’t finish. The ending was very abrupt.
