Book Review
Although it claims to be historical fiction, there is not much history in it. I bought it simply because I like the cover. For me, it served the purpose it was meant to — a break when I am reading something huge or difficult. I would not recommend it to those who would expect it to be historical fiction about the 1969 revolution in Bangladesh.
Metal Hawa is the historical fiction of Humayun Ahmed but there is not much history in it. This book is about historical fiction. I like the character. This book contains information about events happened before 1971, events from Humayun Ahmed’s life and creative fiction. I enjoyed it but the ending was very sad. I actually fell in love with Nadia. I didn’t want to read the last page coz I knew something bad will happen to Nadia. But the life goes on so I read the last page and said goodbye to Nadia and hide the book on my secret bookshelf. Nadiya is a daughter of Habibur Rahman. She is a student at Dhaka University. Her main subject is Physics. Nadiya comes back to her home on vacation.
