Bonnie Tsui an American author and journalist of Hong Kong descent, was born in New York, New York. She grew up as a competitive swimmer, which perhaps foreshadowed her affinity for water-related themes. After graduating from Harvard University, where she rowed crew and studied English and American Literature and Language, she embarked on a multifaceted career that spans writing, swimming, and surfing.
