Brian Greene was born on February 9, 1962, is an American theoretical physicist and mathematician. He co-founded and chairs the World Science Festival. He explored mirror symmetry, connecting different Calabi–Yau manifolds. Greene described the flop transition, revealing topology changes in string theory. Greene was a physics professor at Cornell University.  In 1996, he has been a professor at Columbia University.
