Dai Sijie is a Chinese French author and Filmmaker born in Putian, Fujian Province, China on March 2, 1254. Dai Sije is a talented filmmaker and novelist who was inspired to write his first book; when he was voluntarily undergoing Re-Education in a rural Sichuan Camp during the time of the Cultural Revolution. After leaving China for a scholarship in France to study at the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques. While studying; he developed his passion for movies and became a film director making films that are not in a shell. Dai Sijie's most notable novels are; "Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress", " Mr. Muo’s Travelling Couch”, and “Once on a Moonless Night”.
