Strategic Management began as a classroom text and has been billed by its publisher as the leading American strategy textbook from the fifth edition onward, and appears in Greek, Korean, Mandarin and Spanish. Its author, Frank T. Rothaermel, holds the Russell and Nancy McDonough Chair at the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and is a Regents' Professor, the highest academic rank in the University System of Georgia. He trained first in Germany, taking a Diplom-Volkswirt in economics at Duisburg-Essen, then an MBA at Brigham Young University and a doctorate in strategic management at Washington. His research on innovation, entrepreneurship and competitive strategy has run in the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science and the Academy of Management Journal, drawing more than 25,000 citations. Beside the textbook he has produced some seventy teaching cases distributed through Harvard Business Impact and McGraw Hill.
