Stephen Edward Ambrose was an American historian, born on January 10, 1936, in Lovington, Illinois. He grew up in Whitewater, Wisconsin, where he graduated from Whitewater High School. Ambrose’s impressive body of work includes biographies of U.S. Presidents Dwight D.
