Mihir Sengupta was born on 1 September 1947, in Purba Pakistan Barishal district, Jhalkathi, Kewra Village. He was a Bengali literateur from India, Who is mainly known for his memoirs.He started writing Porse in the Naiya newspaper in 1993 and later also wrote in 'Bartika', 'Kalantor', 'Campus' and many more. He never forgot about Barishal his birthplace. All of his works described his love for it and it's important to him.In the year 2005, he got the  Ananda Purashkar for his book 'Bishadbrekho'. near the end of his life, he was suffering from blood cancer, he died in 2022 on 17 January in a hospital in South Kolkata.
