Frank Richards’s “Billy Bunter’s Benefit” is a hilarious story from the “Greyfriars School” series. The protagonist of the tale is Billy Bunter, a figure infamous for his cunning and sloth. Bunter needs a new bicycle in this book. After finding a deal, he purchases the bike and politely delivers the bill to his father. His father, nevertheless, is not amused. The book also tells the tale of Bunter squandering the money he had saved for the bike at the tuck shop and on a horse, which prompts the organization of a benefit concert to gather funds for the bike.
