The Dark Forest a novel by Liu Cixin, is the second installment in the “Remembrance of Earth’s Past” trilogy.  The narrative picks up from The Three-Body Problem and begins with humanity’s reaction to an imminent alien invasion. The Trisolarans, an extraterrestrial civilization, reveal to Earth that the invasion will occur four centuries later.
