Vaishnavi Patel’s Kaikeyi destabilises the traditional text and provides readers with an inventive adaptation of the Ramayana’s version of the character. This is a portrayal of Kaikeyi’s character and tells more of her person narrative of feelings and goals, actions and motives. Kaikeyi is complex narrative about power, what people are willing to sacrifice for it, and the role of fate, the book is that of feminism, and love, with strong female protagonists that fight in a maledominated society.
