Girls That Never Die is a collection of poems by Safia Elhillo, a Sudanese American poet and the winner of the 2016 Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poets. The poems explore themes of Muslim girlhood, shame, violence, and liberation, drawing from the author’s personal and family experiences, as well as cultural myths and news stories. The book was published in July 2020 and received critical acclaim and a nomination for the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Poetry.
