Memphis is a novel written by Tara M. Stringfellow. The book was published on April 5, 2022, and is a multi-generational bildungsroman based on the author’s rich Civil Rights history. The story traces three generations of a Southern Black family and one daughter’s discovery that she has the power to change her family’s legacy. The family home was built by Hazel and Miram North in the historic Black neighborhood of Douglass in Memphis, Tennessee.
