Cross Fire

Fonda Lee’s book “Cross Fire” is the second installment in the Exo series. The narrative takes place in a universe where Earth has spent a century as an alien race’s colony. The main character of the story is Donovan Reyes, a Security forces member who attempts to negotiate peace negotiations with the human terrorist organization Sapience. But everything is upended by a new order to retreat from the alien home planet. As news of the retreat gets out, Earth opens itself up to invasion by extraterrestrial species. Donovan understands that the secret to averting the approaching conflict is Sapience. But cooperation among all species will be required to save Earth, and Donovan may have to give his all.
