In Die Trying, our narrator and the eccentric protagonist is Jack Reacher, an ex-military policeman who stumbles on a kidnap in progress in an elevator in Chicago. Unknowingly to him he is then thrust in a scenario with armed and dangerous men. I like how Reacher has this need to save the victim and how wise he is as he goes through the threat. It’s charged and anxious, intensely kinetic and plot driven, full of interesting people and events.
