Fractal Noise

Christopher Paolini’s science fiction thriller “Fractal Noise” takes place twenty-three years before the events of “To Sleep in a Sea of Stars.” The narrative takes place in the middle of the 1930s when a celestial survey team finds a 50-kilometer-wide pit of unusual origin on a planet that looks to be deserted.

A tiny team sets out on a torturous trek through uncharted territory in an attempt to solve the riddle of who or what constructed it. The goal becomes a search for purpose in an unforgiving cosmos, where every step you take to descend into the enigmatic abyss is more painful than the last.
