Girl Town

Casey Nowak’s collection of stories “Girl Town” explores fundamental realities found in fantastical settings. The collection features several other stories about young adulthood and the search for connection in addition to the Ignatz Award-winning pieces “Radishes” and “Diana’s Electric Tongue.”

In one narrative, Diana chooses to buy a life-sized robot partner as a coping mechanism for her regular injuries. In a different tale, Mary and La-La are podcast hosts discussing a film that nobody has ever seen. The brave, enamored, hurt, or lost individuals in the book perfectly embody the spirit of the times.
