Brenda Novak’s “Hanover House” Evelyn Talbot is a psychiatrist who has devoted her career to studying the workings of the psychopathic mind. Her high school lover tortured and abducted her, and she survived. She went on to create a ground-breaking medical health clinic in the isolated community of Hilltop, Alaska. She researches the most sinister facets of psychopathy there.
However, not everyone in Hilltop is in favor of Hanover House’s emphasis on serial killers. Sergeant Amarok of the Alaska State Trooper is divided between worries about Evelyn and the possible dangers. As their attraction grows, he worries about what would happen if something goes wrong.
