Held in Dreams is an enthralling historical fiction novel. It is the first book of the Daughters of Italy series. The plot takes place in Tuscany, in 1944, amidst the Nazi invasion of northern Italy. The central character, Contessa Evelina Messina, is the owner of the grand Villa Rosa and appears to welcome the German soldiers.
