In Brief Authority

Thomas Anstey Guthrie, better known as F. Anstey, wrote “In Brief Authority,” a satirical comedy, in 1915. The story revolves around a newly wealthy British family and their nanny, who are transported to the realm of fairy tales, Maerchenland, one evening by storks. The book expresses the clash between the mundane and the fantastical, the modern and the traditional.
