King of Scars is a novel by Leigh Bardugo, published in 2019. It is the first book in the King of Scars duology, and a continuation of Bardugo’s Grishaverse, which includes the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology. The novel follows three main characters: Nikolai Lantsov, the young king of Ravka who is haunted by a dark magic inside him; Zoya Nazyalensky, his loyal general and a powerful Grisha; and Nina Zenik, a spy and a former member of the Dregs. The novel is a fantasy adventure that explores themes such as identity, loyalty, courage, and love.
