“Like Falling” is the first book in the Surfacing series by Jaden Wilkes. The story portrays Sarah, a young woman from a Mennonite community who feels disconnected from her world. She gets her parents to let her attend university in another province, which she sees as an opportunity to escape the oppressive nature of her community.
