The novel is by Gabriel Garcia Marquez as his magical realism work and the central themes of the story are unfortunately linked with love, aging and death. In the novel, the action takes place in the Provinces at the period which was the last stage of the ‘Great War,’ which ended in the seventies and beginning of the eighties of the nineteenth century The South American community within which the action is situated is depicted as being troubled by Wars and cholera epidemic. The action of the novel is given in terms of a love triangle between Florentino Ariza and Fermina Daza and her father.
