Odyssey In A Teacup

Paula Houseman’s “Odyssey In A Teacup” follows little Jewish Australian girl Ruth Roth on a voyage of self-discovery. Ruth struggles to find her place in a society that doesn’t always welcome her and her three best friends—Vette, Maxi, and her cousin Ralph. Ruth’s life feels like a contemporary Greek tragicomedy as she interacts with oddball individuals regularly, such as an emetophobic schoolmarm and an arrogant mirror.
