Service of All the Dead

The fourth book in Colin Dexter’s Inspector Morse series is titled “Service of All the Dead.” The protagonist of the tale is Inspector Morse, who instead of going on vacation in Greece looks into a murder that the authorities have long since put off. He discovers not just one but several murders after witnessing the horrific death of a suburban churchwarden. The list of deceased people rises as he explores the lives and sinful desires of the late vicar’s flock. The book is an attractive, multi-layered investigation of homicide.
