C.J. Tudor’s psychological thriller “The Chalk Man” transports readers to a little village plagued by a troubled past. It is a fascinating read. The narrative centers on Eddie and his buddies, who, as young kids, have a string of unsettling incidents, such as finding a dismembered body, that permanently alters their lives.
The story jumps back and forth between their early years in 1986 and their later years in 2016, when they begin to receive mysterious messages in the form of chalk stick figures that remind them of their old secret code.
