The Count Of Nideck

The French book by Erckmann-Chatrian is adapted from Ralph Browning Fiske’s “The Count of Nideck.” The narrative takes place during the Christmas season of 1780 and centers on the protagonist, who is startled out of slumber in Tubingen’s Swan Tavern by elderly Gideon Sperver. Sperver declares that he has arrived to return the protagonist to the Count of Nideck’s estate, the Castle of Nideck.
