The Old Things” is a novel by Henry James, which was later published under the title “The Spoils of Poynton”. The story focuses on a marvelous collection of art, ornamental art, and furniture in a country house called Poynton. The main characters are Mrs. Gereth, a widow with impeccable taste and iron will, her son Owen, and Fleda Vetch, a keenly intelligent young woman.
