The Runaway’s Gold

Emilie Christie Burack’s historical fiction novel “The Runaway’s Gold” takes place in 1842. The main character Christopher Robertson,  struggles to make ends meet as a farmer and fisherman on the shore of Shetland Island. Following his brother’s false accusations that he took their father’s hidden coin bag, Christopher sets out to locate the missing coins and clear his name. His adventure takes him through some turns and turns, such as a stay in jail, a visit to the home of a stunning girl, and a perilous trip to New York City.
