The Summer of Dead Toys

A hot summer in Barcelona is the setting for the suspenseful criminal thriller “The Summer of Dead Toys.” The first book in the Inspector Salgado series is introduced in it. One of Barcelona’s top criminal investigators, Inspector Héctor Salgado, is originally from Argentina and is tasked with looking into a typical accidental death: a college student fell from a balcony in a less affluent area of the city.

But the more Salgado learns about the victim’s life, the more he understands that the death was not simple. It appears that drugs may be involved, and his pals are hiding something. Following a trail, Salgado enters the underbelly of Barcelona’s affluent society, where he encounters violent criminals, long-kept secrets, and even flashbacks to his past.
