Here are the Essays of Elia, the letters that rank with the best in English, the poems, and the Tales from Shakespeare the two wrote together for children in 1807. The standard collected edition was prepared by E. V. Lucas in the early 1900s and fixed the Lambs’ place in every English library. Few collections offer such warmth per page.
