Gopal Haldar

Gopal Haldar was born on 11 February 1902. He is a well-known Bengali Literature, Literary scholar, Thoughtful essayist, and freedom fighter as well as a political activist.

Gopal Haldar was born in British Indian times and lived in Dhaka, Bikrompur, Badgao Village. His father’s name is Shitakanti Haldar. He got  First class results in Honour and B.A. in the subject English.

He worked in the ‘Porichoy’ Newspaper as an editor for a long time. Aside from that he has worked for people’s freedom and has also been through a lot of struggle for it. His novel ‘Mononshil’ got Special famous.

He died on 4 October 1993 in Kolkata, North Bengal.
