Adam Abramowitz
Adam Abramowitz is a novelist whose Boston upbringing and years working as a courier, bartender, doorman, and mover inform his crime fiction. A Town Called Malice is the second Bosstown novel, following Bosstown and returning to bicycle messenger and aspiring comic Zesty Meyers. As Boston changes during and after the Big Dig, Zesty struggles with his courier business, family tensions, and questions left buried in his father’s past. Thomas Dunne Books published it in 2019. Abramowitz grew up in Allston and the South End, later graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and became a teacher. The series uses Zesty’s movement through city streets to connect neighborhoods, class pressures, redevelopment, and an intricate mystery plot. Boston operates as an active force in the thriller, as local memory and new money continually reshape the choices available to Zesty, his brother Zero, and the people around them.
