Amy Stewart
Amy Stewart turns unusual archival stories into nonfiction and historical novels. Miss Kopp Just Won’t Quit is the fourth Kopp Sisters novel, continuing her fictional treatment of Constance Kopp, one of the first women to serve as a deputy sheriff in the United States. Set during the 1916 election season, the book follows Constance as political change threatens her position and a missing woman draws her into another investigation. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt issued the novel during 2018. Stewart built the series from newspaper accounts and other historical records, while shaping the Kopp sisters into a continuing ensemble with distinct temperaments and responsibilities. Other books include The Drunken Botanist, Wicked Plants, and Girl Waits with Gun. Miss Kopp Just Won’t Quit combines that research-driven curiosity with a lively historical narrative about public service, family loyalty, and women's changing roles.
