Andrew Buckley writes comic fantasy and fiction for younger readers, bringing screenwriting discipline and an affection for strange folklore to his novels. Stiltskin sends Robert Darkly from an alarming encounter in his bathtub into a neighbouring reality where familiar fairy tales follow harsher and less predictable rules. Curiosity Quills Press first issued the urban fantasy in 2013, after Buckley's earlier novel Death, the Devil and the Goldfish. He studied writing for film and television at Vancouver Film School, then worked in marketing, public relations, and professional copywriting while developing fiction. His later books include the Hair in All the Wrong Places sequence, which shifts his humour toward middle-grade supernatural adventure. Buckley has also written under the name Jane D. Everly. His comic reversals keep elaborate imaginary worlds accessible to readers.
