Anh Leod

Anh Leod is a romance writer who also publishes as Heather Hiestand, using the Leod name for paranormal and speculative stories. Fire Wolf pairs Olivia, a divorcee, with Smokie Monahan, a younger firefighter who is secretly a wolf shapeshifter. Their initially casual relationship changes when a seer declares them true mates, forcing both characters to reconsider age, independence, and what commitment means across a human-supernatural divide. First published in 2011, the novella belongs to Leod's compact body of fantasy romance, which also includes Clockwork Captive and the Men of Myth books. Fire Wolf combines a contemporary firehouse setting with pack mythology rather than building a distant secondary world. That approach lets Leod make the supernatural conflict personal: Smokie's nature affects his future with Olivia, while Olivia must decide whether a powerful bond can become a chosen partnership instead of merely a prophecy imposed on them.
