Becca Burton

Becca Burton is an American novelist whose fiction centers queer relationships, recovery, and the sustaining work of community. Something Like a Love Song was published by Interlude Press in 2015, with Chicago Review Press distributing the trade edition. The novel follows Landon and Dylan after a devastating night changes the future they had imagined together. Rather than treating recovery as an individual task, Burton places friends and family around the couple and asks how affection adapts when bodies, plans, and expectations change. The book appeared in both print and electronic editions, with separate ISBNs for those formats. Burton has also worked as a neonatal intensive care nurse, a professional background noted in her publisher biography. Something Like a Love Song is therefore closely tied to her interest in care, resilience, and chosen support networks. Its title suggests romance, but the book’s distinguishing context is the pair’s attempt to rebuild a shared life after sudden disruption while preserving dignity, humor, and mutual commitment.
