Becky McGraw

Becky McGraw builds contemporary western love stories and suspense around ranching families, military teams, and law-enforcement colleagues. Just Shoot Me begins the Cowboy Way series and pairs Tina Montgomery, who needs a convincing model for a new menswear campaign, with ranch manager Dean Dixon. Dean distrusts Tina’s proposal, but family obligations and the ranch’s financial needs draw him into the photography project. Their disagreement develops alongside responsibilities to Dean’s son and Tina’s niece, giving the courtship a practical family dimension. The novel appeared in 2014 and precedes Cowgirl Crazy and later Cowboy Way stories. McGraw’s broader bibliography includes the Texas Trouble and Deep Six Security sequences, where romance commonly unfolds beside demanding work and strong family loyalties. Here, fashion work and ranch life create the central contrast: Tina recognizes Dean as the authentic presence her campaign lacks, while Dean must decide whether her ambition represents another threat or a chance to rebuild trust. Humor tempers their stubborn early encounters without removing the material pressures behind them and the uncertainty involved.
