Beth Hyland

Beth Hyland made her fiction debut with college students moving beyond painful histories. Fall Into Forever introduces Ivy McAllister, who has rebuilt her life after a car crash left gaps in her memory, and Jon Priestly, a musician and student carrying secrets of his own. The 2014 book uses alternating viewpoints to show how each character interprets the other while withholding parts of the past. It is a college-set contemporary romance focused on recovery, trust, and second chances. The Pacific Northwest college setting supports its mixture of campus life, music, and romantic suspense. Fall Into Forever was Hyland’s first novel, and its dual narration became one of the features readers associated with the book. The novel is concerned less with attraction than with whether two guarded people can make honest choices after relationships shaped their fears. Ivy’s missing memories and Jon’s guarded past make disclosure part of the novel’s structure rather than merely a late obstacle.
