The Skystone Chronicles opens with Dragon Thief, published in 2023. Evgard, its setting, is a land where wild dragons feed on magic, so a force called the Mage Hunters limits how many magi may gather in one place and puts a silver mark on anyone born with power. Asher of Steel Rim, seventeen and unregistered, steals for a living in the frontier badlands of Drakfell, then joins a rebel crew going after a rare dragon egg. Dragon Guard, Dragon Hunter and Dragon Knight follow, with a fifth, Dragon Descent, announced for 2026. The Penns have said they wanted to write the sort of book that would have kept their own teenage selves reading until three in the morning.
