C.C. Gilmartin

C.C. Gilmartin is the shared writing name of Scots-born authors Chris Deans and Colin Thomas Begg. Based in Glasgow after periods living in London, Sydney, Berlin, and Barcelona, the pair bring experience from theatre, bookselling, design, teaching, and other creative work to their crime fiction. All Mine Enemies begins the Colin Buxton series on a remote Scottish island, where a police officer must examine the suspicious death of a visiting screen performer while a severe storm isolates the suspects. Published during 2022, the book combines a closed setting with tensions drawn from performance, ambition, and concealed histories. Its sequel, The Death of Me, continues Buxton's investigations. Catalog records identify All Mine Enemies as the first Colin Buxton title and give its independent publication details, while the authors' biography confirms the collaboration behind the initials. Scottish landscapes and cities are central influences on their fiction, giving the partnership a clear regional identity alongside its interest in suspense.
