Cam Montgomery
Cam Montgomery writes fiction about identity, belonging, and choices. By Any Means Necessary follows Torrey, a Black college freshman caught between his life in San Francisco and the Los Angeles bee farm left by his uncle. When foreclosure threatens that legacy, Torrey must balance classes, friendships, family obligations, and his developing relationship with Gabriel. Page Street released the book in 2019 as a contemporary story of class, community, and gentrification. Montgomery also wrote Home and Away and contributed to the anthology All Signs Point to Yes. By Any Means Necessary gives its central conflict unusual weight by making the farm both a practical responsibility and a link to the uncle who encouraged Torrey to imagine a larger future. It joins a coming-of-age story with questions about inheritance, place, and self-determination.
