Caprice Crane
Caprice Crane brings comic timing to novels, screenplays, and television stories about work, family, and reinvention. Forget About It follows Jordan Landau, a twenty-five-year-old whose employer, boyfriend, and relatives routinely take advantage of her. After a bicycle accident sends her to hospital, Jordan pretends to have amnesia and uses the supposed blank slate to change how she deals with everyone around her. The plan succeeds until another event forces her to reconsider what actually makes a life memorable. The 5 Spot imprint released Forget About It in 2007, after Crane’s debut Stupid and Contagious. Crane has also written for television and film and later published Family Affair, With a Little Luck, and Confessions of a Hater. Forget About It displays her characteristic mix of romantic comedy, workplace frustration, and quick dialogue. Its invented memory loss becomes a device for asking whether self-respect can be built through performance or requires more honest change.
