Strayed, born Cheryl Nyland on September 17, 1968, is an American writer and podcast host. She has authored four books: Torch (2006): Her debut novel, which received positive critical reviews. Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail (2012): An international bestseller, chronicling Strayed’s 1995 hike along the Pacific Crest Trail. It was adapted into the 2014 Academy Award-nominated film Wild. Tiny Beautiful Things (2012): A collection of advice on love and life from her popular “Dear Sugar” column.
