Christine Leunens

Leunens wrote Caging Skies, a novel about a boy in the German youth movement who discovers that his parents are hiding a Jewish girl in the house and then lies to her for years to keep her there. Taika Waititi filmed it as Jojo Rabbit and made it a comedy, which the book is not: it darkens as it goes and finishes nowhere near the film. She was born in Connecticut to Belgian and Italian parents, modelled in Paris and Milan, and lives in New Zealand.
